About Mountainside Treatment Center Canaan

The Mountainside Treatment Center is located in Canaan, Connecticut. The organization is LegitScript certified and accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF. Through CARF, by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, they offer level 3.5 and level 3.7 of care.

They’re an alcohol and addiction treatment center. Seamless comprehensive care is offered. They use a data driven approach. The treatment programs they provide are detox, residential, outpatient (OP), extended care and recovery coaching.

I like that their detox program combines a holistic approach with medical practices. You’ll have medical support and care 24/7.

Support clinical therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available. The medications are to keep you safe and comfortable during the withdrawal process. You will be given either Suboxone, Sublocade or Vivitrol. These medications will help reduce your cravings and ease your withdrawal symptoms.

You are able to receive residential treatment for up to 35 nights. They will provide you with three meals per day. I do like that you will have a daily schedule based on your personalized treatment plan. They combine the 12 Step principles, counseling and education.

Outpatient treatment is also available. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) will be over a seven week period. You will attend a total of 24 sessions throughout that time frame. During this time, you will be focusing on recognizing your triggers. You will learn how to manage your withdrawal symptoms and gain an understanding of addiction.

Their standard outpatient program will run a course of ten weeks. You attend sessions once per week. During this time you will focus on repairing relationships that have been damaged by your addiction. You will learn how to develop a sober network and healthy relationships.

I like that they are on the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. Here, you are going to be able to remove yourself from distractions and focus on healing. You will be surrounded by open skies and lush greenery.

Insurance is accepted. If you’re uninsured or choose to not use insurance, they accept private pay. With private pay you have the option to pay via credit card or check.
