About Montefiore Substance Abuse Treatment Program Unit I
Located in the Bronx, New York, the Montefiore Substance Abuse Treatment Program offers outpatient treatment for adults struggling with opioid use disorder or a dual diagnosis. Montefiore understands how difficult it can be for some clients to access treatment because of financial barriers, so they offer a sliding fee scale for payment, based on income and family size.
Opioid use disorder is addressed using medication assisted treatment. It’s a combination of prescription medications and evidence-based counseling. You’ll be prescribed methadone to curb opioid cravings and reduce the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal. When you wean from opioids with medication, you’ll also attend individual and group counseling to better understand the nature of your addiction and develop tools to cope with life stressors without opioid use.
You’re further helped on your journey to sobriety with nutritional services and vocational and educational services. Plus, clients with a co-occurring mental health disorder, like depression or anxiety, can access psychiatry and psychotherapy services.
