About Merit Resource Services

MERIT Resource Services has been helping people struggling with substance use issues in Washington for at least 40 years. They offer quality outpatient addiction recovery that promotes dignity and respect for everyone. They also provide integrated treatment for dually diagnosed mental issues. They have seven outpatient clinics in varying locations, including this one in Sunnyside.

This facility is just 35 miles southeast of metro Yakima. It’s about a 38-minute drive from Yakima to the facility if you take I-82 East. Public transport here is limited to the Greyhound bus which doesn’t come often.

The clinic will help you recover regardless of whether your symptoms are mild, moderate or severe. They have services available in English and Spanish.

When you arrive at the clinic, you’ll be thoroughly assessed. This helps their clinical team create a custom treatment plan to guide your recovery.

They’ll refer you to a detox or inpatient care if higher levels of care are appropriate for you. Otherwise, you’ll receive general or intensive outpatient care. Telehealth support is available to let you receive therapy from home using secured video conferencing platforms.

They mainly use evidence based methods like moral reconation therapy and 12 Step practices to support your recovery. The method adopted will depend on your customized care plan.

If you’re dealing with stimulants like cocaine then they’ll use the matrix models in an intensive outpatient setting to facilitate healing. This model helps you overcome stimulant use by combining therapy, education and relapse prevention strategies. They may even incorporate spiritual and cultural practices in your recovery through White Bison’s Wellbriety Movement, such as the medicine wheel.

The facility also offers specialized relapse prevention programs, addiction education and family matrix therapy. Specialized programs for adolescents that include family therapy groups may be available. The facility also offers alcohol and drug information for schools and deferred prosecution evaluations for those involved with the criminal justice system.
They support walk-in assessments and also provide a 24/7 recovery helpline. This anonymous and confidential helpline provides crisis intervention and referral services for folks having crises. They can connect you with local resources for substance use and mental health treatment, problem gambling and other community services. They even offer ongoing support after treatment.

You can pay through Medicaid or private insurances. Discount rate is available through a sliding fee scale if you’re uninsured.
