About Marys House
North Carolina’s third largest city, Greensboro, is home to Mary’s House. This faith based ministry administered by Phoenix Rising provides targeted care for women and mothers battling addiction or dual diagnosis, along with homelessness. You can access free transitional and permanent housing to start or continue your recovery journey.
They provide a safe, stable living environment to reach recovery while connecting with women on similar paths. You’ll participate in a 12 Step approach with proven therapeutic interventions, including group, family, and individual counseling, parenting skills training, case management, and life skills training.
Keeping Families Together
What stands out most to me is that your children can also live on campus. They ensure you can stay connected with your kids while working towards recovery. You and your children can enjoy a comfortable, homelike environment with up to seven other families. You’ll benefit from a tight knit space to open up and learn from other families in recovery.
Children’s Groups & Long Term Support
I also think it’s great that they offer in-home children’s groups. They recognize that addiction is a familial disease and your children also need support. Your child can benefit from their own therapeutic experience to gain coping skills and understand how to support themselves throughout this journey.
Another thing that caught my eye was their length of stay. Addiction experts agree that remaining in treatment for at least 90 days can promote the best outcomes. Their program provides support for up to one year. I think this is fantastic because you can move at a pace that works for you while receiving continuous support to achieve your recovery goals. You’ll benefit from plenty of time to learn and reinforce coping skills to build a solid recovery foundation.
