About Maggie & Erma’s House Inc

In one of Greensboro, North Carolina’s most historical neighborhoods, Maggie and Erma's House is a transitional house that provides a home and substance use treatment for women. Their faith based programs are designed to help women recover in a safe environment where physical and spiritual needs are met.

Being part of the South Greensboro Historical District, the neighborhood offers a peaceful and rooted environment. I feel like it’s a setting that could be really supportive for healing and personal growth.

A Home for Recovery

Choosing this addiction treatment program means you’ll live here for nine to 12 months. There’s room for seven women so you’ll have a fairly small and intimate group. Everyone shares not only the chores but the challenges and celebrations of recovery.

A Faith Based Recovery Home

The Christian program here follows a structured weekly schedule Monday through Friday. You’ll participate in group sessions, but one day each week, you’ll have an individual counseling session. Each day, there’s something different to support recovery, including Bible study and 12-step work.

Healing for Women and Children

What really stands out to me is the dedication of the staff. They’re on a mission to help women rebuild their lives. Of course there’s a focus on sobriety, but they also help with relationship building.

They welcome women who’ve faced some tough challenges, especially women who’ve lost custody of their kids. This program helps them become better parents and prepares them for family reunification.

One woman who went through treatment at Maggie & Erma’s House said, “It was at this program that I learn to love myself first, and that my life has purpose…I would recommend this program for any woman who is ready for a new life full of joy and purpose.”

To me, it’s testimonies like this that show how successful a person can be here if they’re ready to put in the work of recovery.
