About La Esperanza

You’ll find La Esperanza Health Counseling Services in Lynnwood, Washington, a popular Seattle suburb. This nonprofit community organization has provided culturally relevant addiction, mental health and social services within the Puget Sound region since 2005. You can access tailored services to meet you where you are in recovery.

Special Populations

While they welcome everyone, they offer specialized care for specific populations. This includes members of Latino and immigrant communities, people in the criminal justice system, young adults, adult men and victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.

Culturally Relevant Services

For me, their dedication to cultural competency really stood out. You can access all services in Spanish and English, including intensive outpatient programs, parenting classes, DUI services and anger management. They ensure you have a welcoming space that acknowledges and celebrates your background.

Program Duration

Another standout feature I noticed was their program duration. They provide one and two year intensive intermediate outpatient options. I think this is nice because you’ll have plenty of time to move at a pace that works for you. You’ll benefit from extensive time to develop coping skills and practice them in real world situations, like work and school.

Deferred Prosecution

I also think their deferred prosecution program seems beneficial. You may be able to participate in this track as an alternative to incarceration. These programs are often available for people with low level nonviolent offenses.

DUI Services

Lastly, I like that they have DUI services. You can access DUI assessments and victim’s panels. You’ll receive vital information about how substance use affects your life and the best next steps. You can also learn more about the effects of drinking and driving on victims who have experienced it firsthand.
