About Journey Mental Health Center Gateway Community Support Program
Journey Mental Health Center has multiple locations in Madison, Wisconsin. One of these is the Olin Center and offers community treatment alternatives (CTA) and its Gateway Community Support Program.
CTA is a contracted provider of Dane County. This program works with folks involved in the criminal justice system. If they have been diverted from the Dane County Jail or have been conditionally released after being found not guilty by reason of mental disease, they may meet the admission criteria.
The program uses assertive community treatment to serve clients with severe mental illness which could include a co-occuring substance use disorder. They offer medication evaluation, prescribing and monitoring. Clients will get personalized counseling, case management, and health assessment and coordination of medical services.
They also offer substance use assessments and referrals for treatment. I like that they help clients navigate housing, education and employment issues. They also teach clients how to improve their financial skills.
Their trauma-informed care will help this vulnerable population be able to heal and move forward with the rest of their lives.
This location also offers Gateway CSP. This is a full service recovery-focused rehab program for people with mental health or psychosocial needs. It focuses on community integration and embracing each client’s role such as student, spouse, tenant, and worker.
Another program offered at this location is the Keystone Community Services and offers case management and psychiatric care to Dane County residents who have a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. These clients might be stepping down from more intensive treatment or transitioning from other Journey services.
This program focuses on recovery and is run by a multidisciplinary team of community-based providers. They’ll work together to make sure you get the support and access to the services you need to improve your overall wellness and health.
