About Jean Marie House
Jean Marie House is a mental health and addiction recovery program designed exclusively for women around Brookpark. It’s part of the Ed Keating Center family of treatment locations. The facility can house up to 45 women at any given time.
According to the facility’s website, this location operates as a nonprofit and helps every individual in need regardless of their ability to pay. About half of the facility’s funding comes directly from donations and fundraising events.
Founded in 1998 to Give Everyone a Chance at Sobriety
This center’s goal is to help every woman have a chance at overcoming their addictions to alcohol and drugs, even if they don’t have the money to pay for the help they need. This location is designed for women, but two other living facilities provide a total of 150 beds for men and women.
This program begins with sober living for about three months. While they're there, residents partake in group meetings, get AA sponsors and attend 12 Step meetings each night.
After three months, residents enter into a transitional program. They can still live at the facility, but they will be expected to seek out employment and start paying a fee to support the center. Every week, residents are expected to attend seven regular meetings and one after care meeting.
