About InterCommunity Health Care Hartford

InterCommunity Health Care is accredited by The Joint Commission and their facility is located in Hartford, Connecticut. They offer treatment to young adults, women with children, veterans and adults who are struggling with substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions. They offer a variety of services that include detox, medication management, residential treatment, intensive outpatient care (IOP), supportive living and individual counseling. They offer sliding scale fees.

When you first arrive at treatment, it’s understandable to be nervous and have a little fear because you’re unsure of what to expect. They will complete a comprehensive assessment to better assist you and get you connected to the level of care most beneficial for you.

Their program is divided into different levels of care. If you need more acute care then you might be referred to one of their residential facilities.

The InterCommunity Withdrawal Management Center is a medical supervision detox program and can last anywhere from five to 10 days. After you complete detox, you will transition into the short-term inpatient program. This program provides stabilization, therapy, supportive services and education resources.

The Coventry House is a residential program they offer. It has 10 beds and is designed for women who are pregnant as well as mothers who have children under the age of five. They provide supportive services and help you strengthen your parenting skills throughout the time you are in treatment.

Another residential program is their Clayton House which allows you the space to work and and still receive counseling services. Some of the services they offer here include relapse prevention, gender-specific groups, and community-based groups that will help you gain tools to build resilience and boost confidence.

When completed treatment or after attending therapy sessions, you can explore the local area of Hartford. They have art galleries, specialty museums, historical sites, science museums, restaurants and religious sites you can visit for a day trip.
