About Northport Genesis MBTC

The Genesis MBTC center in Northport, Alabama is a non-denominational Christian Discipleship ministry. They started back in 1969.

They don’t charge for their services and don’t receive government funding. Their center actually raises the money themselves through local support.

Program and Staff

Admission is based on bed availability. You do need to be 18 years of age or older for admission. You must be willing to seek God for solutions and follow the structure of the program.

Their staff, along with their senior residents, mentor the new residents. The senior staff handles major decisions and issues. Their higher ranking residents and junior staff guide and teach the newcomers.

Structure and Routine

You can expect to engage in 5.5 hours of Bible study daily. This totals to about one year of Bible school. Their curriculum includes a major focus on the New Testament and a more general study of the Old Testament.

The primary purpose of the center is to provide hope and lead individuals to a relationship with God. The program follows Biblical discipleship and teachings to help you find fulfillment and peace.

Program Phases

Their program consists of four phases. Each program phase lasts from 2-4 months. You’ll also earn privileges along the way.

The first phase includes a strict induction period with minimal privileges. During the second and third phase household responsibilities will be introduced. Your family will be allowed to visit and you’ll have phone privileges. No friends are permitted.

You can enter counselor training to help guide others toward the end of your program.
