About Gaudenzia Montgomery County Outpatient
Gaudenzia Addiction and Recovery Services is a CARF accredited substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment organization. They have many locations including the Montgomery County Outpatient program on West Main Street in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The outpatient program includes outpatient services (OP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). They also offer adult and adolescent treatment services. They take some commercial insurance plans as well as Medicaid plans.
The programs use an evidence-based treatment model with two foundational therapies. Therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). The treatment approach includes individual and group counseling. You’ll have a case manager to coordinate your care and guide you through the process.
You’ll get psychoeducation to learn about concepts important to sobriety such as emotional regulation. You’ll participate in wellness activities and mutual support groups while receiving integrated health services to ensure your physical and mental health is supported. They offer morning and evening meetings so you can continue with work or school if necessary.
One of the unique aspects of the program is the emphasis on breaking down treatment barriers for marginalized groups. They welcome everyone into their programs, and programs are gender-responsive and trauma-informed. They recognize that pregnant and parenting women face unique obstacles when seeking treatment and they offer specialized programs to address those needs. They have programs for HIV/AIDS-affected populations. The outpatient program also provides adolescent-specific services.
Outpatient services through this program are for individuals meeting the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) standards for outpatient services. The outpatient programs may be a step down after completing an inpatient program. The services may be the first step for someone in treatment for the first time who needs to stay at work or school while getting treatment.
