Gateway Foundation Corrections Saint Louis Outpatient is a program offered by the Missouri Department of Corrections to bring substance abuse treatment to incarcerated or justice involved adults. The Saint Louis location serves both men and women in an outpatient setting. They offer counseling, transition programs and day reporting centers. They also offer treatment for those with a co-occurring mental health condition.

The main focus of these programs is real life skills such as relapse prevention and reentry skills. Services are available at this clinic up to six days a week. They offer both day and evening sessions. I like that Gateway Foundation believes that community corrections treatment services are a better alternative to incarceration for certain nonviolent offenders.

Gateway’s transition process is for clients who have a high risk of relapse and a return to criminal activities. They provide support and also accountability during this important transition.
