About Family and Medical Counseling Services

Family and Medical Counseling Services is a nonprofit organization based in Washington DC, specializing in behavioral and mental health issues, including drug rehab services. Harm reduction services include testing for Hepatitis C and HIV, as well as education, treatment, counseling and support for those who test HIV positive. Access to primary care, as well as harm reduction vending machines featuring lifesaving tools like NARCAN, fentanyl testing strips and clean syringes are also available. They can also assist with referrals for more intensive rehab services and care.

They accept self pay and Medicaid and offer financial assistance and sliding scale payment options for those in need. They also accept many commercial insurance options including Aetna, Cigna, Humana and United Healthcare.
