About Eugenia Center Mental Health Services

Eugenia Center Mental Health Services has been treating people with substance use disorder since 1991 and has offered mental health services since 2017. The center has several locations, including the facility on North Market Boulevard in suburban Chehalis, Washington. The facility offers outpatient treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, as well as adult support services.

They accept insurance from some private providers and Medicaid. They also take some state mental health agency funds.

Staff at the center focuses on providing substance use education. They believe in creating lasting change through the holistic approach of treating the spirit, mind, and body, and they customize your treatment based on your substance use and mental health history.

The program includes group and individual counseling where you can gain insight into your mental health and what may be driving your substance use. They also have a family program since substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders affect the entire family. You’ll learn about the 12 Steps, and they’ll help connect you with the program in your community. Through the intensive outpatient program (IOP), you can get referrals for inpatient and detox services if necessary.

There are some unique aspects to this program, including the trauma recovery classes based on moral reconation therapy. Moral reconation therapy increases your moral reasoning and gives you insight into how your substance use and actions affect those around you. You’ll come to understand what trauma is and learn how it keeps you bound and affects your interpersonal relationships. You’ll learn mindfulness techniques and how to accept reality as it is while planning for the future and recovery.

Another great aspect of this program is the sober coaching. Support coaches are available part time and provide feedback, encouragement, and accountability. You can meet with them in person or over the phone. They’re right by the Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library and not too far from John Dobson Park, which might be a good place to meet up and even unwind a bit.

This facility also offers Adult Drug Information School (ADIS) which provides a greater understanding of substance use and recovery. Anyone can take the classes, including those who have to take them due to a court order.
