About Encompass Community Services Youth and Family programs
Encompass Community Services is a mental health clinic located in Santa Cruz, California. They offer treatment for mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders. Here, you’ll find supportive services for adults over the age of 18 including veterans and their families.
They were established in 1973 with a mission to help individuals and families from all walks of life to elevate, heal, and recover.
Known for its surf culture, beautiful beaches, and artsy scene, Santa Cruz can be a great place to develop healthier hobbies or enjoy outings and fellowship with your recovery support network. Some of the many things to do nearby include e-bike tours, surfing lessons, whale watching and visiting national parks.
What stuck out to me is the clinic’s ReTURN program. This program is designed to support individuals who are on probation after being incarcerated by providing a smoother transition back into society.
They combine mental health supportive services and therapy to help you maintain a healthier life in recovery, rebuild trust with your loved ones and develop life skills. Comprehensive assessments will be completed so they can assist you with housing placement, emergency housing, family counseling and other resources.
Their Driving Under the Influence Program provides educational programs and counseling to adults who are convicted of first or multiple offenses due to drinking and driving. While you’re receiving services, a counselor can provide referrals if a higher level of care is necessary and will also determine whether drinking may be an issue that causes unmanageability in your life. This can be a great opportunity for you to gain more insight into the impacts and dangers of drinking while driving and understand the consequences.
The Links2Health is a program available for individuals with Medi-Cal in Santa Cruz County. What I think is so unique about this program is the support and assistance it provides for individuals who are affected by medication conditions or are experiencing homelessness. They will monitor you throughout the time you are connected to them to make sure you're staying on top of your medication management and follow-up on appointments. They will also provide advocacy, care coordination assistance and supportive services to your family as well.
