About Duke Psychiatry Clinic
Duke Psychiatry Clinic is a mental health department that is located in Durham, North Carolina on the campus of Duke Health. Depending on your unique needs, you’ll meet weekly with a therapist for 45 minutes. The goals of therapy include improving mood, healthier coping strategies and a reduction in harmful behaviors.
Adolescents and young adults aged 13 to 24 can access outpatient addiction treatment with a range of treatment sessions. While in treatment young people will learn life and recovery management skills, how to navigate stress, and how to have a fulfilling life free of risk. They’ll also help young people connect to a recovery community.
One thing I like about Duke is that they are actively engaging in current research to investigate the best and most efficient ways to treat substance abuse. In particular they’re studying how to best treat adolescents with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
