About Derek Jeter Center at Phoenix House

Serving the community of Tampa, Florida, Derek Jeter Center at Phoenix House is an outpatient behavioral health center for young people. Adolescents receive substance use disorder treatment and mental health support in a family based recovery environment. Inspired by his father who is a drug and alcohol counselor, Derek Jeter worked with Phoenix House to create a place where kids can come for treatment.

A Treatment Approach Centered Around Family

The Derek Jeter Center provides a holistic approach to substance abuse including psychoeducation, medical care, health education, life training workshops and active learning opportunities.

Putting a strong focus on family involvement, the Derek Jeter Center stresses the importance of bringing the family closer together. Creating a long term support network that includes friends, family and peers is a component of successful sobriety. Treatment will help adolescents heal family relationships that may be affected by substance abuse.

One thing I really like is that graduates of the program are eligible to receive two annual scholarships from the Derek Jeter Foundation for college tuition.

No One is Denied Care Because of Cost

Teens aged 13 and older can access two types of outpatient addiction treatment programs at this facility. They have an intensive outpatient program with day and evening groups available to accommodate a range of schedules.

After completing the IOP your child may transfer to the general outpatient program. This offers a few hours a week of treatment and opportunities to practice their new skills.

The Derek Jeter Center firmly believes that no teen should be denied care because of inability to pay. They are an in network facility for most insurance providers and accept Medicaid. They also have access to county, state and local funding sources.

Gender-specific addiction treatment gives men who are struggling with substance use disorders a connection point to other men with similar struggles. This common ground can make a huge impact on men’s rehab in Florida.

Opioid Treatment

Opioid rehab in Florida provides the care you need to help you safely and comfortably navigate a path to recovery. Treatment addresses both emotional and physical aspects of addiction, offering individualized tracks and custom programs.

Women's Rehab

Often, women who have a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring disorder. Women’s rehab in Florida often addresses both the addiction and mental health disorder with dual diagnosis treatment.

Teen & Adolescent Program

Young adults often develop addiction for different reasons than older individuals. That’s why a young adult program in Florida focuses on the unique pressures, needs, and challenges faced by young adults.
