About ACTS Wraparound Housing and Amethyst Respite Center

Serving Tampa, Florida, ACTS Drew Park and Amethyst Respite Center offers housing and behavioral health services for people experiencing homelessness and co-occurring mental health issues. They offer 90 days of emergency shelter and recovery services for individuals with mental health disorders and substance abuse issues.

The program is short term and accommodates up to 45 people at a time. For families, eight apartments are available. The goal of treatment is a successful transition to permanent housing and income.

During treatment you’ll receive an individualized plan, case management, and economic linkage. Your treatment plan will have goals, measurable objectives, and interventions. Within 72 hours of admission you’ll be linked to essential services like insurance and food stamps. If you need more intensive treatment after the 90 days, you’ll be referred to an appropriate program. You’ll be connected with your own case manager who will help guide you through the housing process during your stay.

To be admitted to this program you need to be homeless and over the age of 18. You must have a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. You also must be able to manage your own self-care and manage your behavior appropriately. This program cannot accommodate you if you’re drug dependent and presenting with acute withdrawal symptoms. You’ll be screened beforehand to ensure you’re a good match for placement in this program.
