Special Moms in Recovery Program in the Granite State

One specialized treatment program that caught my attention was the Moms in Recovery Program. The program helps pregnant women and women with children with substance use disorder and addiction. The program is comprehensive and has on site supervised play for children while moms are attending treatment.

The program connects clients with other moms dealing with addiction and other issues. Clients receive prenatal care, screening for hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections, immunizations, family planning, and help accessing a primary care provider. Moms can also get a dental screening.

From a food pantry to assistance with housing, insurance, employment, and transportation, the program offers a variety of services. I think moms facing challenges will love this program. They offer a women only intensive outpatient program (IOP), individual counseling, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) if appropriate. They have parenting classes and peer support services. They also offer help with nicotine, tobacco, and vaping addiction. Moms can make invaluable connections with peers while attending this program.

The Doorway for Opioid Use Disorder

In addition to the regular outpatient addiction treatment programs, they also offer the Doorway program at the Lebanon facility. The Doorway program is part of the state’s initiative to address the opioid crisis. One hallmark is that for anyone who needs treatment, help is less than an hour away, and there’s 24/7 access to services. The Doorway is a hub that connects clients to the level of services and support appropriate for their situation.

The Doorway services include naloxone distribution, diagnostic evaluations, and facilitated referrals. Clients receive screening and crisis stabilization and can get services by telephone or in person.
