About Crossroads Residential Womens Treatment Center

Crossroads Residential Women’s Treatment Center provides co-occurring eating disorder and substance use disorder treatment for women in Portland, Maine. This specialized women’s treatment program takes place in a safe and structured environment with an intimate setting of just 10 women at a time. Choosing to enroll here will give you an individualized treatment plan with group and individual counseling. While in treatment you’ll learn early recovery skills, how to manage emotions, relapse prevention and nutrition for sobriety.

Using the 12 Steps to Heal

While in this residential program, you’ll attend daily 12 Step meetings in the house or within the community. This will allow you to build connections with peers and establish your own sober community. Within groups and through counseling, you’ll learn how to express yourself effectively while managing your emotions without substances. You’ll focus on healing trauma, understanding spirituality and treating any other mental health issues that come up. I think it’s great that they also offer group therapy sessions and Al-Anon meetings onsite for family members.

Treatment for Women in Portland

Instead of only focusing on symptoms, Crossroads addresses underlying issues and fosters an environment that lets you heal spiritually, emotionally and physically. Licensed professionals may use motivational interviewing, art therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help you establish a strong foundation of recovery.

Another thing that stands out to me about this facility is that it’s mostly women on staff. These women can better understand the unique challenges that women face when they’re experiencing eating disorders and addictions.

Client Feedback

Most former clients seem satisfied with the services at Crossroads Women’s Treatment Center. They report that the facility is homey and comfortable and that the treatment here helped them grow and develop new social abilities.
