About Corsica River Mental Health Services Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder
Corsica River Mental Health Services is a nonprofit CARF accredited organization providing outpatient treatment to clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The clinic is on High Street in Cambridge, Maryland. One of the things I like about this organization is that they won’t turn away anyone regardless of financial status or lack of insurance. They accept most major insurance, including Medicare, and Medical Assistance. If you’re uninsured, they have sliding scale and self pay options that take into account your income.
Substance Use Treatment in Beautiful Cambridge, Maryland
The substance use and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment at this clinic consists of therapy-based treatment and medication management. There are psychiatrists available to determine whether medication would be a good option for your mental health treatment.
Substance use disorder treatment includes group, family, and individual therapy. There are many reasons people turn to substances to cope with challenging issues. For that reason, I think it’s good that they also offer grief counseling as well as marriage and couples counseling. I noticed they offer school and agency-based therapy as well.
They also offer access to a care coordination program that helps clients 18 and older with mental health and substance use disorders in an effort to keep them out of the emergency department. The service is free.
Reaching the Mid Shore Communities with Mobile Outreach Treatment
One of the unique services offered through this organization is the mobile treatment team. This is an outpatient intensive service for adults who face obstacles in getting to traditional outpatient treatment programs. To be eligible for the program, clients must be over 18, be frequent users of psychiatric treatment and mobile crisis teams, have legal matters or arrests related to their mental illness, and be experiencing chronic homelessness.
Team members help clients with medication management, education, and symptom management. They help link clients to community resources while ensuring they receive entitlements. Clients get help with money management, finding employment, and maintaining housing. Team members provide clients with mental health and substance use counseling, coping strategies, addiction counseling, and other mental health services.
