About CORAS Wellness and Behavioral Health Mens Residential

CORAS Wellness and Behavioral Health is a nonprofit organization that serves clients with substance use disorders, intellectual and psychiatric disabilities, and co occurring disorders. They have several treatment locations, including the Harrington Men’s Residential Treatment Center in Harrington, Delaware on East Street. I think it’s a nice feature that the facility treats Delaware residents who are uninsured, and accepts Delaware Medicare and Medicaid as well as most commercial insurances.

Level 4 Recovery House for Men in Harrington, Delaware

As defined by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), level 4 is the highest level of structured living for clients completing an addiction treatment program. Clients in this residential program live in a substance free, safe, and therapeutic environment. The program is for men who haven’t been able to stop their substance use when living in their homes in the community.

While in the home, men participate in addiction treatment as well as for co occurring mental health disorders, if appropriate to their situation. Clients participate in counseling and support groups, including 12 Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous. They use a harm reduction model, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention.

The Unique SNAP Philosophy for Recovery in Delaware

A unique part of the treatment I think clients will like is the SNAP philosophy. SNAP stands for strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. The treatment team works with clients to develop an individualized plan that takes into account the client’s strengths, needs, preferences, and abilities.

Clients are goal focused and working toward independence and self sufficiency. When clients take a major role in treatment planning, they’re more enthusiastic about working toward their goals. Men leave the program with the tools they need to continue their sober journey in the community.
