About Community Behavioral Health

Community Behavioral Health is a behavioral care management company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This company manages behavioral Health benefits for people who receive Medicaid and is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services for the city of Philadelphia. They’ve a large network of doctors to choose from.

Assessments in Philly

All clients will have a full assessment to determine the level of care they need. Treatment programs include group and individual therapy. Many providers offer couples and family therapy as well.

Community Inpatient Care

They have two programs for inpatient clients: medically managed and medically monitored. Both programs provide medication for withdrawal symptoms.

The medically managed program is for people who have serious medical side effects from drug use, such as open wounds or seizures. People in this program get 24-hour-a-day care from a doctor or nurse.

They also offer medically monitored inpatient withdrawal management for people who have stopped taking drugs and have moderate withdrawal symptoms. Clients are monitored by the medical staff regularly.

At Their Residential Level of Care

I like that they have two levels of residential care. I also like that both programs have a 24-hour-a-day staff.

They offer a high-intensity residential program in which a team of mental health professionals provides a full day of treatment and activities for clients. They teach residents life skills to help them transition out of treatment and into normal life.

The low-intensity treatment program offers five hours of clinical services a week. The staff concentrates on helping clients reach their educational and career goals.

Don’t Forget Outpatient Services

Outpatient clients can attend sessions in person, via the phone, or via the internet. You’ll receive therapy as many times a week as the staff deems necessary.
