About Clara Martin Center

Since 1966, the Clara Martin Center has specialized in treating adolescents and adults with co-occurring conditions and substance abuse disorders. The facility rests along the border between New Hampshire and Vermont. You'll find 'em located out in Bradford, Vermont. If you need some greenspace to unwind, the Connecticut River is right next door. You can also take the road that goes directly to Lake Morey.

The earlier stages of recovery can be challenging because of the symptoms due to chemical dependency. To better assist you, assessments, referrals, psychiatric evaluation, and medication monitoring are some of their many services available. Their approach to helping you heal is to incorporate integrative care to treat addictions and joint mental health conditions like anxiety or depression.

Experience the Support of a Recovery Group in Orange County

One notable aspect is their various outpatient groups. Receiving outpatient treatment allows you to develop a schedule that won't interfere with treatment or prior commitments such as employment or childcare. These group sessions can help you develop coping skills, improve communication, learn accountability, heal from trauma, and overcome triggers. It’s also neat that they offer different types of recovery groups, such as those for co-occurring disorders, teens, and for folks who need extra motivation.

Although they offer a variety of different outpatient groups, I think it’s amazing that they have an impaired driver rehabilitation program. This program was developed to help you get your license reinstated so you can receive treatment and work on getting your driving privileges back.

Case Management for Adults in Vermont

Something else that caught my eye was their supported employment program and community support program. It can be difficult trying to maintain a healthy balance when your mental health is causing instability in your life. This program prepares you for employment, assists with job search, and connects you to training and educational opportunities.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Private Rehab

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
