About Chrysalis House Inc
Chrysalis House offers residential and outpatient alcohol and substance use disorder treatment for women in Crownsville. Their residential program is one of a few in the state that allows women to bring their children with them to treatment.
They accept Medicaid insurance only. Women must be 18 years and older, have a primary diagnosis of chemical addiction and have completed detox and be alcohol and drug free for a minimum of five days before admission.
Residential and Outpatient Treatment for Mothers with Alcohol or Substance Use Disorders
The residential treatment program at Chrysalis provides a therapeutic, holistic approach that recognizes the importance of keeping mothers with their children during their recovery journey. In addition to individual and group counseling, they provide case management services, medical support, medication assisted treatment when needed, PTSD and trauma counseling and relapse prevention.
I love that they have an onsite infant and child development center and provide mother child activities and parenting and life skill training. Their newly renovated residential facilities can house up to 50 individuals and offer an exercise gym and a meditation room.
The outpatient programs as Chrysalis, include intensive outpatient (IOP) and general outpatient programs. These programs provide ongoing treatment, including individual and group counseling, substance use education, relapse prevention, as well as job readiness and workforce development services. Chrysalis House’s licensed clinicians can also provide treatment for women with a dual diagnosis. Their case managers can also assist with transitional housing support services.
Complementary Therapy at Chrysalis House
Another unique service offered at Chrysalis House is Auricular Acupuncture (Acudetox). I’m impressed that this treatment involves the use of a 5-point ear acupuncture protocol developed by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. This complementary therapy can reduce cravings, lessen withdrawal symptoms, improve sleep quality and reduce anxiety
Chrysalis House is CARF accredited and is associated with the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers.

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.
Transportation services are designed to ensure your addiction treatment begins and ends successfully by offering free transportation to the rehab facility, to and from your appointments during rehab, and back home upon program completion.
Addiction Treatment Programs
A typical adult program in Maryland offers a private setting for rehabilitation from alcohol or drugs. Treatment often includes group therapy, individual counseling, and family support and may occur in a residential facility or through outpatient care.
Cognitive behavioral therapists use multiple exercises during cognitive behavioral therapy in Maryland. A combination of imagery-based exposure, behavioral experiments, and thought records can provide effective treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Women’s rehab in Maryland provides an environment where women can step back from daily stresses and distractions to focus on their recovery. The caring, safe surroundings help create positive recovery outcomes.
Levels of Care
Outpatient rehab in Maryland is best suited for those who are coping well in recovery but need ongoing treatment. This level of rehab offers accountability and support through regular therapy sessions and support group meetings. It may last for weeks or months, based on your ongoing recovery needs.
If you have both a mental health and substance use disorder, these cannot be treated independently. They interact, so the treatment must be integrated. Dual diagnosis treatment in Maryland is designed to treat both co-occurring disorders.
Intervention services are often necessary before treatment at a drug rehab in Maryland can begin. These professional services help you encourage your loved one to get the treatment they need. Support includes intervention facilitation, education about treatment plan options, and guidance in selecting the best program for your loved one.
Addiction challenges don’t end after rehab. To maintain good health and sobriety, you’ll need to continue to manage your addiction. Aftercare rehab in Maryland helps you by providing continued access to specialists, counselors, and life coaches for as long as you need them.
