About Cheyenne Transitional Center
Cheyenne Transitional Center is a CoreCivic-operated community corrections facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming serving adults referred through the Wyoming Department of Corrections.
The center supports residents with substance abuse counseling, life skills training and reentry oriented programming as they transition from incarceration back into the community.
I appreciate that its mission centers on pairing structured residential supervision with the practical tools people need to rebuild stable and sober lives after release.
Reentry Focused Substance Use Support
As a transitional center rather than a traditional rehab, Cheyenne Transitional Center weaves substance use support into a broader community reintegration model.
Residents receive substance abuse counseling, drug testing and ongoing accountability throughout their stay in the coed residential setting.
Programming is designed to address the realities of life after incarceration, helping residents build sober routines while preparing for independent living.
Counseling and supervision work together to reinforce recovery goals and reduce the risk of relapse during a critical transition period.
Life Skills and Community Reintegration
Beyond substance use support, I want to note that the center offers life skills training in parenting, money management and anger management, along with job placement assistance and family therapy.
This well rounded approach helps residents strengthen relationships, secure employment and develop the day to day skills essential for long term stability.
