About Charleston Center

Serving the people of Charleston County, South Carolina, the Charleston Center provides various treatment programs for substance use disorder and addiction issues. They offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment services, as well as medication assisted treatment, prevention and education services, and urine drug screening. Medicaid and private insurance are accepted, but Medicare is only accepted as payment for opioid treatment services.

Residential services include medically monitored withdrawal management, transitional care for adults who need continuous care in recovery, and therapeutic behavioral services for children who may have developmental delays due to parental substance use. I really like their New Life program, which provides medically monitored care for chemically dependent pregnant women and mothers. Two children can accompany mothers into treatment, stopping families from being separated.

Outpatient treatment for addiction at The Charleston Center includes individual and group counseling, the frequency of which is determined by an assessment and progress through treatment. They also offer medication management with Methadone, Suboxone, and Naltrexone, to help clients with chemical dependency wean off opioid drugs.
