About Charak Center for Health and Wellness Garfield Heights
Charak Center for Health and Wellness is an outpatient mental health and substance use recovery clinic with a location in Garfield Heights, Ohio. They offer a welcoming setting where you can handle various behavioral challenges. This ranges from substance use to life altering conditions and relationship issues that may cause you emotional distress. They can even help you recover from dually diagnosed mental and addictive behaviors.
The facility is located 10 miles southeast of Cleveland. This means a 15 to 20-minute drive when coming from Cleveland. You can easily stroll from the clinic to the Garfield Park Reservation. It’s just 2.3 miles away. This park has great hiking trails and remnants of the stone bridges. It also boasts Mill Creek Falls which is Cuyahoga County’s tallest waterfall. Exploring this natural beauty can make your recovery journey in this facility exciting.
They primarily offer intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Their MAT program supports adults of both genders struggling with opiate addiction and alcoholism. Once you’ve undergone a diagnostics assessment, they’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
Your personalized treatment may involve either Suboxone or Vivitrol prescriptions during the five days of treatment in their induction phase. Those are the two FDA approved meds they prescribe for their MAT programs. These meds normalize your brain chemistry, curb cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms. This makes it easier to focus on therapy and rebuilding your life.
You’ll participate in IOP therapy groups after completing the induction phase to tackle the psychological aspect of your opioid use. This involves three hours of sessions per group for three days. Morning and afternoon sessions are available to enhance flexibility. You’ll also attend two hours of aftercare groups twice a week for ten weeks and then once a week sessions for another ten.
Subsequently, you’ll receive maintenance therapy monthly for at least 20 weeks until treatment is complete. The maintenance therapy involves medication management and individual psychotherapy. The beauty of this IOP phase is the flexibility. You may even attend sessions virtually through videoconferencing thanks to their telehealth support. You must submit all scheduled and random urine screens during the program. This is a way to monitor treatment progress.
You can benefit from their case management services as well. Case managers eliminate barriers to lasting treatment or recovery efforts. Your case manager will streamline your access to community resources like stable housing, employment and medical care. They also help with food, daily life skills and transportation aid. The facility accepts Medicaid and Medicare for their services.
