About Changes Place

Based in Loves Park, Illinois, Changes Place is an outpatient treatment facility for addiction and substance use disorder. Care is available to adults aged 18+ including those with co-occurring mental health issues, regardless of gender, race, or background.

With over 30 years of experience, this center strives to address individuals’ needs through a holistic approach that seeks to get to the root of the problem. By offering a better understanding of addiction and giving clients the tools and resources they need, it’s their belief that progress and positive change can take place.

Their offering begins with an initial one-to-one assessment to get to the bottom of what a client needs to recover. From here, they can better recommend and refer individuals to the treatment most appropriate for them. Education services are provided to help clients and their families understand their complicated relationship with their substance of choice. Early intervention is also available.

The main difference between intensive and regular outpatient here is the time commitment required. Intensive services are offered for upwards of 9 hours per week, while regular outpatient services come in at less than 9 hours. Both involve individual, family, and gender-specific counseling services. DUI services are also available for those who may need them. For those in need of further intensive care, this center can also make referrals.

Aftercare is also made available to all clients who may need it and can look like continued individual or group counseling, or a combination of the two. Educational services are also included, as well as relapse prevention, with an overall emphasis on maintaining positive habits and lifestyle changes for a sustainable recovery.
