About Catholic Charities Matt Talbot Center

Catholic Charities Matt Talbot Center in Parma, Ohio, was originally a halfway house for men with addiction. In 1999, they founded a similar program for women. Matt Talbot for Women has since moved to the same location as the men’s program, but treatment is gender specific. The treatment center in Parma is only 10 miles from Cleveland and 16 miles from Edgewater Park, an urban gem on the shores of Lake Erie. They specialize in treating clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. You can pay using Medicaid, and they accept some other insurances.

Dual Diagnosis Residential Care in Parma, Ohio

One of the unique services I noticed is the gender specific life skills training. The services are also culturally sensitive and specific.

The program is comprehensive and offers housing, meals and personal care items. You’ll participate in group and individual counseling and have a case manager to help you navigate your treatment and recovery. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for addiction if appropriate.

Comprehensive Discharge Planning Services

Another aspect of the program I like is their discharge planning services. These services are comprehensive and include a continuing care plan with job readiness training and referrals or employment. They’ll offer guidance and information about sober housing so you’re fully prepared to maintain your sober lifestyle.
