The location on Detroit Avenue is their Westside clinic, which offers mental health services to children and adults and may treat co-occurring substance use disorder.

This clinic also provides competency restoration education to those who have been found incompetent to stand trial due to mental health issues or co-occurring mental health and addiction diagnoses. I appreciate that they accept Medicaid, and some services are free to participants.

Competency Restoration Program

What I found really unique about this location is the competency restoration. It’s an outpatient program for those involved in non violent crimes which provides legal education to ensure participants understand their charges, legal representation and what the court is doing. Then, participants are re-evaluated to see if they are competent for trial.
