About Catawba Community Mental Health Center

Catawba Community Mental Health Center is based out in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Northside Park isn’t too far away. The facility is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF). The facility accepts Medicare and Medicaid as well as some private insurance plans.

They work with clients of all ages and provide a wide variety of outpatient mental health services, including crisis intervention, medication management, virtual and in-person therapy, and psychiatric assessments. They also provide additional support services like care coordination and individual placement and support (IPS) to aid in clients’ recovery and help improve their quality of life.

Evidence-Based Treatment

The clinic offers several evidence-based treatment approaches, such as dialectical (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I think it's neat that the clinic’s staff will determine which approach is best for each client based on their diagnoses and individual needs.

Patient-Centered Values

I love how “respect for the individual” is one of Catawba Community Mental Health Center’s primary values. The clinic places a strong emphasis on clients’ independence, respect, and dignity. Staff members will work with clients to understand their needs and strengths. Their staff is also trained to provide culturally competent care.
