About Cascadia Plaza Health Center
Cascadia’s Plaza Health Center in Portland, Oregon, is an alcohol and drug treatment facility for adults. The treatment available includes individual therapy, substance abuse education, and relapse prevention. They also offer medication supported recovery and DUII education.
The facility is not far from some great activities I think you’ll enjoy, such as walking around Mt. Tabor Park or taking in the sights of the Willamette River. SewallCrest Park is closer, but also several blocks away.
The medicated assisted treatment (MAT) program is provided for individuals who are currently using methamphetamine and opioids. If staff members determine you need a higher level of care, they can refer you to one of their community partners. As a part of your medication assisted treatment, you’ll take medications such as methadone or Suboxone to reduce your cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
As you’re taking these medications, you’ll receive individual counseling. Trauma can often be one of the causes of substance use disorder. Your individual counselor will focus on addressing and healing your trauma through therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Having support from others is important for clients to be able to maintain their sobriety. I like that individual counseling will also focus on helping you build effective relationships.
The DUII education, diversion and conviction services offered at Cascadia Plaza Health Center can help clients meet all of the necessary legal requirements they need to fulfill. It’s important to note that this program is for individuals with first time driving under the influence offenses who do not meet the diagnostic criteria for substance use disorder. You’ll complete at least 12 hours of education over 4 weeks and have negative urinalysis reports proving you have abstained from using intoxicants.
