The Assertive Community Treatment program, or ACT, is a specialized program that aims to engage individuals who don’t respond well to traditional treatment. This individualized support includes a combination of medication, vocational and academic support, and therapy. Treatment usually takes place over a long period of time like two to five years. An average client receives three contacts per week from an ACT team member.
The IMPART program provides a safe and nonjudgmental space for pregnant women and new parents to receive care on their recovery journey. The goal of treatment is to keep parents and children together. Treatment includes medication assisted treatment (MAT), group counseling, and parenting classes.
You’ll be connected to prenatal and healthcare services. You’ll also get help with childcare and housing assistance. To be enrolled in this program you must have Medicaid and a substance use disorder diagnosis. Medications are used to reduce the prevalence of drug cravings and help eliminate uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. Medications are always used in a multi-pronged approach that includes counseling, family support, and vocational training.
Psychiatrists can provide medication management and clinical support for anyone seeking services. Some people who received care said that communication with the facility was difficult and the case management wasn’t effective.
