About Blue Hills Treatment Center

Blue Hills Treatment Center is a state-operated addiction treatment facility n Hartford, Connecticut.  They provide services for adults struggling with substance use disorders. Part of Connecticut Valley Hospital, the facility offers immediate walk-in access to detox and residential care for men and women. Blue Hills combines proven therapies with trauma-informed care to support lasting recovery.

Comfortable Detox

I noted that clients start with a medical screening by on-site nurses and physicians to determine the appropriate level of care. They offer a medically managed detox program that lasts 5 to 7 days and provides 24/7 supervision for withdrawal to help ensure safety and comfort. Medication assisted treatment is available to help alleviate harsh withdrawal symptoms.

Therapeutic Methods for Recovery

Clients in the rehab program receive individual counseling, group therapy, family counseling and couples counseling. I found that the center uses various approaches alongside the 12-step foundation for sustained sobriety. The facility specializes in treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders together to address the root causes of addiction.

The facility is accessible via local public transportation. They offer services for hard of hearing clients and priority is given to pregnant women with substance addiction issues.
