About Bethel Colony South Men’s Transformation Ministry & Thrift Store
Bethel Colony South Men’s Transformation Ministry, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a faith-based discipleship program for men working to overcome addiction. Services include work therapy, lay counseling, and recreational activities. They also have a transitional living program for those who complete residential care.
Bethel Colony South is free of charge. I believe all staff members are people who previously completed the program, so you’ll be surrounded by people who understand the journey you’re on.
Residential Discipleship for Men in New Orleans
The Bethel Colony South discipleship process lasts around six months. You’ll be in a structured, highly supervised sober environment and they aim to surround you with support and encouragement.
Residents are given Bibles and study materials and participate in daily Bible study, lay counseling, and are given hot nutritious meals three times a day. You’ll also have access to medical screening and first aid.
Much of the program focuses on work therapy and volunteer work. I like that these activities aim at helping you develop a sense of contribution and self esteem, as well as a strong work ethic and employability skills to help you in the future.
Transitional Living Options for Graduates
Once you complete the residential process, Bethel Colony South has a second stage program available that provides ongoing discipleship and peer support in a sober living environment.
The first three months of transitional living are focused on continuing church attendance, Bible study and attending support groups. The second three months are tailored to helping residents transition back into the community by finding work and permanent housing.

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track.
