About Winnebago County Behavioral Health Neenah
Winnebago County Behavioral Health Neenah is one of two county service locations. This Neenah, Wisconsin, location offers mental health and substance use disorder treatment. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. One of the conveniences I noticed is the many types of insurance clients can use. They take private insurance, TRICARE, Medicare and Medicaid.
Mental Health Treatment and Assessments
The staff operates with a recovery oriented philosophy. I think clients will like the goal oriented treatment that aims to help individuals reach their highest level of self sufficiency, wellness, health and stability.
To receive mental health treatment at the clinic, you must meet residency and income eligibility requirements, so be prepared to complete a financial interview. If you need medication management, you’ll need to do a mental health intake before they’ll schedule you with a provider.
The clinic also provides substance use disorder assessments. Court ordered OWI and intoxicated driver assessments are also available.
Help for Low Income Residents in Winnebago
I appreciate that they offer some unique and helpful support services for low income residents. There’s a SNAP food share program, medical assistance and care through the BadgerCare Plus program, and child care assistance. Residents must apply for benefits online or in person at the Neenah clinic. Application approval takes about 30 days. You can use your BadgerCare benefits at the pharmacy and doctor’s office about 48 hours after approval. It takes about five to seven days to receive a Wisconsin Quest debit card for food share benefits.
One benefit I think many people may not be aware of - but is one of the most helpful - is their child care subsidy program. The program helps low income families who need childcare so they can work. It’s available to teen parents who are working on their GED or in school. Most parents share some of the cost through a copayment.
