About Akua Detox San Diego

AKUA Detox San Diego provides integrative addiction treatment for adults in San Diego, California, including medically supervised detox, medication assisted treatment (MAT), dual diagnosis care, and short and long-term residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient (OP), virtual outpatient, and aftercare programming.

Clients undergoing detox receive round-the-clock medical supervision and may be prescribed FDA-approved medications to ease withdrawal symptoms and prevent serious complications. Those in alcohol and/or opioid recovery may enroll in their evidence-based medication assisted treatment (MAT) program for longer-term pharmacotherapy. Clients also engage in intensive, trauma-informed, CBT-based psychotherapy, including individual, group, and family counseling. The program promotes clients’ sustained sobriety through robust, recovery-focused life skills training addressing topics such as coping, self-care, wellness, anger and stress management, emotional regulation, disease and medication management, and relapse prevention. Their holistic treatment model combines Western and Eastern approaches and encompasses a wide variety of complementary therapies, including yoga, meditation, mindfulness, sound therapy, breathwork, nutrition therapy, creative arts therapy, and experiential therapy.

Their outpatient and aftercare services ensure a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs and may include transitional support for clients stepping down from higher-intensity treatment and referrals for medical, mental health, and social service programs. Private insurance and self-pay are accepted.
