About Addiction Prevention & Recovery Administration

The Addiction Prevention & Recovery Administration is a child and youth focused drug prevention center. They share premises with the DC Health and Wellness Center in Washington DC.

Through their programs, they hope to prevent younger generations from trying out addictive chemicals and getting hooked. They also work to reduce the risk factors that underage youngsters face when experimenting with drugs and alcohol. They do this for communities and families.

They’re involved in making drug education materials available for free download from the Drug Free Youth DC website. They teach at schools, community gatherings and youth groups. They offer advice on how to prevent getting addicted and what strategies you can use to get free if you do.

For those who are caught in addiction, they run Recovery Support Services to help them break free. They work individually with people to see what they need and provide suitable help. Other help includes life skills training, transport and education support. They also offer housing and employment support.
