About Clean & Sober Street

Clean and Sober Streets is a CARF accredited adult residential substance use treatment program in Washington, DC and serves men and women who are motivated to pursue lasting sobriety.

Using a therapeutic community model, the program supports adults facing drug and alcohol addiction including those experiencing homelessness, unemployment or major life transitions.

Rooted in homelessness advocacy since 1988, I appreciate how Clean and Sober Streets emphasizes stabilization, community support and rebuilding a meaningful life beyond abstinence.

Residential Addiction Recovery

The program's core focus is adult residential treatment for substance use disorders, delivered within a supportive therapeutic community.

You can stabilize, actively participate in you recovery and are supported by fellow residents and an experienced clinical team, including an LPC/ATR clinical director and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner medical director.

Treatment addresses the connections between addiction, trauma and mental health through interactive, multi learning style group work.

You'll live in single sleeping rooms within a purpose built environment featuring group spaces, dedicated art areas, a workout room and onsite meals, creating a stable foundation for lasting change.

Recovery with Creative Expression

I want to note that a defining feature of Clean and Sober Streets is its experiential and holistic care built around creative expression.

Programs includes art therapy, music therapy and mindfulness meditation and poetry groups, journaling and somatic processing, qigong and body and breath work.

Weekly groups blend art and music, poetry and creative writing, drama and movement, giving clients meaningful outlets to process trauma and grief.

Clean and Sober Streets provides in person residential care at its facility on 2nd Street NW in Washington, DC.

The program earned its first CARF accreditation in 2023 with a three year accreditation decision.
