About Westminster Rescue Mission Addiction Healing Center
Westminster Rescue Mission Addiction Healing Center is a Christian community organization providing spiritual, clinical, and physical services in Westminster, Maryland. They offer inpatient addiction treatment along with an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and general outpatient care. You can also access medication assisted treatment (MAT) and transitional housing. Westminster Rescue Mission accepts insurance and has a sliding scale discount payment program.
Residential treatment has three phases. Beyond the usual individual and group therapy, they have a strong focus on case management and vocational support. This support in a faith based program really stands out.
In the first phase, case management includes organizing vital records and setting up urgent specialist appointments. For example if you need HIV/Hep C testing or treatment, wound treatment or other immediate medical care they can help you out. In the second phase the case manager sets up any additional specialist appointments and helps you organize your finances. In the last stage of treatment, the case manager helps you with housing and employment. This sets you up for success in every area of life as you move into long term recovery.
Vocational support complements this case management and it starts right away in phase one. You take assessments and learn about work options. In phase two you learn vocational and job skills so you’re ready to work after graduation. In phase three they help you develop a resume, work on interview skills and look for work. As a result you’ll be in a great position to live and work independently as soon as you graduate.
Outpatient addiction counseling and support groups can be accessed in person or virtually. During outpatient treatment you can expect to participate in volunteer opportunities and chapel services. The intensive outpatient program is helpful for those who need more intensive outpatient care to support them as they practice their recovery skills in daily life.
