The program serves youth in grades 6-12, ages 11 to 18. It provides outpatient treatment in local area schools, including Waipahu Intermediate and High Schools.

Outpatient Treatment for Teen Concerns in Waipahu

One thing I noticed about this program is that it doesn’t just address substance use. They also provide support for youth dealing with legal concerns, family problems and gang issues.

They provide outpatient treatment, including individual and group therapy. There are also additional support programs that complement outpatient treatment. For youth involved with the courts, the treatment programs and other assistance can help them clear their legal issues and move forward with their lives in helpful ways.

Additional Support for Safety and Emotional Wellness

There are some complementary programs that help teens alongside substance use treatment. This includes a program where teens can spend time outside of school and learn life skills like problem solving, leadership and academic success. They also help with education and job training.

There are also activities that support physical, social and emotional health, including journaling, art and stress management strategies. To me, this comprehensive support gives youth a great chance to establish long term recovery and stay away from legal issues.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction t...reatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Men's Rehab

Men’s rehab in Hawaii often reduces the risk of relapse and increases treatment completion rates by giving men the opportunity to create bonds with other men who have similar challenges. They feel comfortable sharing their struggles, and continue the supportive relationships after treatment.

Women's Rehab

Because women often abuse substances for different reasons than men, women’s rehab in Hawaii provides treatment that is targeted for women. Programs focus on specific trauma, stigma, bias, and gender-role issues that can affect substance use disorders among women.

Teen & Adolescent Program

A young adult program in Hawaii is important for addressing the needs of this stage of life. Young adults face different challenges and have different motivations for using substances than older adults, and a young adult rehab program addresses these unique needs.
