About White Earth Tribal Mental Health White Earth
White Earth Tribal Mental Health facility has several locations in Mahnomen, Clearwater, and Becker counties in Minnesota, including the facility on a secluded corner of Crane Road in White Earth. It’s pretty close to Johnson Lake. The organization provides outreach based mental health services to children, adults, and families. They also have substance use disorder treatment. The services are for White Earth Tribal members and their families. They must reside near or on the White Earth Reservation.
The programs accept ITU (IHS/Tribal/Urban) funds, Medicaid, private insurance, and other state financed plans as well as government funding for substance use treatment programs.
The mental health programs were designed to provide a comprehensive plan for crisis intervention and support through culturally sensitive and appropriate treatment modalities that include traditional and modern medicine. They work with clients to increase positive family relationships and healthier lifestyles. They have individual and family counseling, and they honor traditional healing practices to restore the balance between the spirit, body, and mind. There are programs specific to children, adolescents, and adults.
The substance use disorder programs start with a substance use assessment. They offer individual and group counseling, family support, education, and relapse prevention strategies. There are both outpatient and inpatient treatment options. They also offer medication management and consults through TelePsychiatry. If you need medication assisted treatment (MAT), it’s also available through one of the centers.
There are case management services for children and their families with a wraparound approach unique to Tribal communities. They help families work to bridge the two worlds in which they live - the Indian and Western worlds.
The location on Crane Road offers assessments and intake. After intake and a thorough mental health and substance use assessment, the team develops a treatment plan. They’ll refer you to the right location based on the treatment you need.
