About WestCare Youth Academy Carrollton

WestCare Georgia Youth Academy is a residential substance use disorder treatment center located on Oak Grove Church Road in Carrollton, Georgia. The Academy serves adolescent boys from 14 to 17 experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

Addiction Recovery Services for Georgia’s Youth

The Academy offers an intensive residential treatment program in this 20 bed facility. The program uses evidence based treatments, including trauma informed and person centered therapies for the treatment of substance use and mental health issues.

The objective of the program is to help boys eliminate substance use while becoming positive, productive, and healthy. Boys must be nonviolent to enter the program and will be assessed to ensure eligibility. The environment is therapeutic and structured and provides a place where kids can heal. There is 24/7 supervision, including electronic security and cameras.

The boys participate in accredited academic studies from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I think parents will appreciate the peaceful campus and safe space including the supervised on and offsite recreation opportunities.

The staff is comprised of trained counselors who lead the boys in substance use disorder and behavioral health therapy groups. They have individual counseling as well. Most boys stay in this voluntary program for three to five months.
