About Wedge Recovery Centers South Office

Wedge Recovery Centers has a South Office in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. If you’re seeking treatment for a substance use or co-occurring mental health disorder, Wedge Recovery’s South Office is one of your options in Philadelphia. The facility is nonprofit and is a designated Center of Excellence for the treatment of opioid use disorder. One of the things I noticed about this facility is that the staff is LGBTQUIA Community friendly, and they strive to be culturally sensitive. The center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and self payment.

Another feature I noticed about this program is the clinic is part of the Community Behavioral Health System (CBH). This means it’s a federally designated clinic offering evidence based mental health and substance use disorder treatment. CBH facilities also help with crisis management, life stressors, and physical symptoms related to stress.

The outpatient program at Broad Street has level 1 care in alignment with The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). This means they have group counseling sessions throughout the week so you can attend when it’s most convenient. I like that clients can attend individual therapy weekly, every other week, or once a month depending on what’s best.

They also offer an intensive outpatient program or IOP. The IOP includes group and individual therapy. You’ll start with at least nine hours of treatment per week but may have as much as 19 hours of treatment weekly. If you need additional care after finishing the program, they’ll refer you to another program or to support services within the community.

If you have a co occurring mental health disorder and need medication, they’ll handle your medication management concurrent with your addiction treatment. One of their main goals is to improve every client’s quality of life through an individualized and holistic approach.

I like the fact that the staff uses a person centered approach. They start by identifying each client’s intrinsic strengths and include the client as a team member when developing the treatment plan. This nurtures a supportive relationship between the clients and staff. They also offer nonjudgmental support and guidance to help people achieve their goals. Staff recognizes that every person’s experience is different, so every recovery journey is different.
