About Wayside House

Founded in 1974, Wayside House offers comprehensive addiction treatment for women in Delray Beach, Florida. This nonprofit is located on a serene campus tucked away from the business of downtown. In this peaceful environment, you can heal from addiction and any co-occurring mental health disorder. All programs are rooted in the 12 Steps traditions and use a variety of holistic therapies. They offer residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), or intensive outpatient care (IOP).

The residential program accommodates up to 28 women at a time. This program lasts 90 days and has two phases. You’ll receive a structured schedule of group and individual therapy, as well as 12 Step meetings. You’ll discover peer support and create lasting friendships with other women. Holistic approaches like art therapy, equine therapy, and yoga will also be a part of treatment.

Within the second phase of treatment you’ll spend more time off campus searching for employment and educational opportunities.

The partial hospitalization program provides an opportunity for you to live at home or at a Wayside House apartment while you receive treatment. This program is generally between 30 and 45 days. You’ll attend six hours of treatment Monday through Friday.

The intensive outpatient program is ideal for women who want to strengthen their sobriety. The IOP is an eight week, 24 sessions therapeutic program. This program focuses on relapse prevention and learning the proper coping skills to stay sober.

Women that have been treated at Wayside House often stay in touch through their alumnae program.
