About Vista Maria

Vista Maria provides all kinds of services to meet the needs of girls and women. This includes support for survivors of human trafficking, mental health services, foster care, and adoption. They have a transitional living residence on their campus in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. This supervised living program serves females between 16-19 years old.
Girls will live in a group home that’s safe and supportive and most of all encouraging. They provide an age appropriate space to help residents learn to live independently. I like that Vista Maria focuses on giving its residents practical skills to help them manage their lives self sufficiently.

They also run a residential mental health program that helps young clients heal from trauma and move forward to the rest of their lives with hope and optimism. They provide mental health stabilization and more. They partner with the court system, case management organizations and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Shepherd Hall is a program for youth who are homeless or have aged out of foster care. They’ll get wraparound services including help with getting a job, sessions with a trained therapist and aftercare. This program is for young adults between 18 and 24 so they can transition to adulthood successfully.

Vista Maria also runs an excellent extracurricular program called Journey to Success. Youth will get tutoring and homework help, exam prep, and recreational enrichment activities. Kids aged 11 through 18 will join in various workshops to explore their interests in a wide range of topics. For example, robotics, programming, photography, sports, and nutrition. The program runs for six weeks during the school year and may include some field trips.
