The Vesta Silver Springs Outpatient Treatment Center is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. They are CARF-accredited and offer high-quality care to individuals who are seven years of age and older who struggle with mental health conditions and addiction. For over 30 years, they’ve continued to expand and assist individuals who are working towards elevating their lives and seeking recovery.

While receiving outpatient services you can also access telehealth services which offer more flexibility to get the healing you need that can coincide with your schedule. During the early stages of your recovery, it can be challenging trying to maintain your lifestyle and still go to treatment and move forward. Outpatient treatment can accommodate your needs by prioritizing your recovery and being able to go home afterward.

Some of the special services available to you include medication management, individual therapy, psychiatric care, and referrals to housing or higher levels of care. This creates an opportunity for you to receive integrative services by addressing other symptoms of depression or anxiety, or if you’re at risk of being homeless.

What stands out to me the most is the variety of group therapies available to you throughout the time you are receiving services here. It can be a rough start in the beginning due to all the changes like no longer associating people who you knew in active addiction that could jeopardize your sobriety.

Group therapy includes your peers who are on the same journey as you. They may have similar goals they want to achieve during treatment. Your group can give you a sense of belonging. They offer women’s trauma survivor groups, art therapy, outpatient substance use groups, symptoms management groups, and emotional regulation groups.

Between sessions, you might find that greenspaces can provide an opportunity to unwind. Ellsworth Park isn’t too far, and they have tennis courts and even a section for dogs.
