Vantage Health Systems is a private nonprofit charitable organization that provides mental and physical healthcare, support services, and affordable housing to community members. A mobile unit may also be available alongside caregiver support for seniors. They have two locations, one of which is in Dumont, New Jersey. They accept most insurance plans and folks without insurance may qualify for grant funding.

Their addiction services are for those wanting to overcome problem gambling, alcohol or drug abuse, and other addictions. They’re staffed by board certified psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, licensed clinical social workers, licensed alcohol and drug counselors, as well as other licensed mental health professionals. I like that many of their staff are bilingual.

At Vantage, you can get assessments, individual, group, family, or couples counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), urine screens, and education & prevention services. Clients also have access to a relapse prevention group.

Vantage Health System provides outpatient gambling addiction services, too. Highly trained clinicians have all completed a 30-hour training program with Rutgers University to ensure they provide the highest level of care. Medication monitoring is also available for people who need it.

Treatment includes individual, group, and family or couples counseling. They have a range of group therapy sessions for adults on topics like anxiety, adults living alone, a women’s group for single, divorced or widowed females and more.

Clients who have experienced a mental health hospitalization can attend day treatment. This program offers illness management education, case management, addiction counseling, pre-vocational counseling and social skill development. They also can arrange transportation if you need it. If you’re able to go on offsite excursions, the Dawn M. Totten Memorial Field is a block over, where you can unwind and relax.
