About United Summit Center

Located in Clarksburg, West Virginia, United Summit Center Day Treatment is a grant based rehabilitation program for adults with substance use disorder or mental illness. It is a comprehensive mental health center that partners with West Virginia University. Here you’ll find programs like an intensive outpatient program, day treatment, therapy, and medication management. Assertive Community Treatment and crisis stabilization are other ways they can help people who are struggling.

The group-based daytime treatment program is for individuals with chronic mental illness. The intensive outpatient program is a six week program consisting of three-hour group therapy sessions three times per week. Counseling sessions generally focus on addiction education, the recovery process, and how your addiction has impacted your life.

An option called Early Recovery is a program focused on people who are just beginning their treatment experience. These people may not be ready for an intensive treatment program. Early Recovery could also be for individuals who may not yet be convinced they have an addiction issue.

The Comprehensive Opioid Addiction Treatment Program (COAT) offers counseling and medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. This program also treats any co-occurring mental health or substance use disorders. Medications like naltrexone, naloxone, and buprenorphine may be used to treat uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. All programs begin with an in-person intake evaluation.

While some former clients report it can be hard to reach staff on the phone, they also say the receptionists are friendly. Clients also report short wait times.
